CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION IN PATENT AND TRADEMARK ATTORNEY PROFICIENCY EXAMS AND TIMES FOR EXAMS
In order to participate in the patent and trademark attorney qualification exams, the following conditions must be met.
- a) To be a citizen of the Republic of Türkiye. (Requirement to take the exam)
- b) To have legal capacity. (Requirement to take the exam)
- c) To be a graduate of a higher education institution that provides at least a four-year undergraduate degree or a higher education institution abroad whose equivalence is accepted by the competent authorities. (Requirement to take the exam)
c) Not to have been convicted of disgraceful crimes. (Requirement to take the exam)
- d) Having a settlement in Turkey. (Requirement for registry record)
- e) To be successful in the exam. (Requirement for registry record)
- f) To be registered in the registry. (Requirement for registry record)
While the Patent and Trademark Attorney Qualification Exams were previously held in two stages, the Exam was reduced to a single exam with the Regulation amendment in 2023. Patent Attorney and Trademark Attorney Exams are held separately, usually every two years, or in October or November in odd years.
